floor

this is turning out to be my home improvement website. so brad and i have decided to carpet our livingroom floor. the wood is too warped in some places to just refinish, and we think it will be more comfortable with carpet; right now it feels like a cave. so we are going to put tile down by the front door and then carpet the rest, hopefully it will be before the superbowl (we are having a party at our house and it has been a great motivator to get things done around the house). we got blinds for the living room, good ones too, to replace the stupid paper blinds we had before and it makes our house look a lot more respectable. and we finally put up the curtains brad's grandma gave us: there are sheer yellow ones in the study and cafe curtains in the kitchen. it looks pretty good. and we got a pedestal sink, but who knows when that will get put in. brad keeps saying "when is your dad going to come up again? i miss your dad, it was fun when he was here." i told him that before my dad comes we need to finish the upstairs and get the downstairs all cleaned out. apparently brad really liked having my dad here this summer. maybe it's because he would motivate us to work. maybe it was because he knows how to do home improvement stuff. i like to think it was just because he likes my dad (which really is the real reason).

mandi, sorry i didn't call you on sunday, or monday, or tuesday. i am working on finding time to call you so we can talk, but it never seems to work out. and mom, sorry for not calling you back on tuesday. brad and i got doing things and just ran out of time. i'll work on calling you back too.
