today is my first doctor's appointment, and they mostly just confirm that my home pregnancy test was accurate. turns out i really am preggers. they ask me lots of questions about my history and health, tell me what to avoid during pregnancy, give me some literature, and tell me i need to go get blood work done.
we also discuss morning sickness, which is getting stronger and stronger. i haven't thrown up, but i feel like i am going to every second of every day. i don't ever want to eat (i think at this point i am subsisting on fruit smoothies and toast), and i have found that certain foods make me insane with nausea: tater tots (even the smell is unbearable), thai food with coconut milk, raw onions, too much garlic, sugary foods. i am also miserable with how tired i am all the time. they give me some "preggie pops" to ease the sickness, but there is too much sugar in them to do any good. i start counting down the days until i finish my first trimester and the morning sickness subsides.
