resolutions

resolution: (noun) res·o·lu·tion Middle English, from Middle French or Latin; Middle French resolution, from Latin resolution-, resolutio, from resolvere
1 : the act or process of reducing to simpler form
3 a : something that is resolved b : firmness of resolve
true to form i am writing a list of new year's resolutions that i plan on keeping, but will most likely break in two weeks or less. i find it interesting that resolution, by definition, means to make more simple. however, i find that new year's resolutions usually make life harder in that i always make mine unattainable. but what would new years be without this annoying little list to make you feel guilty all the year round? so here goes:
1. eat at least three meals every day (including breakfast).
2. make time to eat breakfast.
3. don't drink soda.
4. dont' miss class unless under dire circumstances (being tired is not one of those circumstances).
5. try to work out at least once a week (i'm being realistic).
and there you have it. sounds easy but it really isn't. here i go into the new year, wish me luck.
