people...people who need people

so, i realized that i don't have friends. well, not a lot of them anyway. there is no one here that i can call up and say, "hey, do ya wanna hang out?" sure i have friends at work, but those friendships don't really extend past the work place. and i have friends from classes, but i would never call them up and invite them to the movies. my close friends consist of family members and brad. and occasionally brad's friends. i feel like such a loser. so what is the solution? who knows. it is hard to make friends when you are married. why? here, read my list:
1. single people don't really like hanging out with married people because the senarios would have to go something like this:
a. two married people and one single person. awkward for the single person because they start feeling like they will never find anyone, and they are so alone in the universe, and they are a reject.
b. two married people and two single people. awkward again for the single people because if they are on a date, they feel pressured to make the relationship last. and if it is just two friends, say, of the same gender, then it is really awkward because they start to feel like they are on a date.
c. one single person and one married person. now, really, what do they have to talk about? love and relationships? come on. one has found true and lasting love and the other is still looking; the single person would feel inadequate and the married person would not be able to connect.
d. two married people. how often does this actually happen? first, both female members would have to get along. the two male members would have to get along. and the female members would have to get along with the male who is not her husband and the male members would have to get along with the female that is not his wife and the odds are that it will never happen.
e. one married person and another married person. if they are not married to each other, then their priorities lie elsewhere and they won't want to hang out often without their significant other.
2. single people and married people have very little in common. they have different relationship problems. one's relationship problems consist of problems within the relationship they will have for a long long time and the other's relationship problems consist of finding another person to share lasting relationship problems with. one has at least three other roomates and the other has only one. one can have sex with his/her roomate, the other cannot. these are major issues.
3. there is no real connections because your connections are with other people.
4. it's just awkward.
so there are the problems i have to contend with. you can see why i have no friends...there are tons of reasons. maybe one day when i am not surrounded by tons of single students i can finally find someone willing to hang out with me besides my husband.
