woohoo! christmas is in three days (today, thursday, friday!). i am pretty excited, but i think that if brad wasn't here, i wouldn't be that excited; his excitement is rubbing off on me. that and he keeps getting me presents, but won't tell me what they are. he wrapped one present and on the tag it says "to: kyra, from: i am your gift" that's what it says. what does that mean? and another that says "from: satin-claus." pretty interesting, huh? i guess i just have to wait...
speaking of christmas, we don't have stockings. i think mine is still at home in california. my second christmas away from home and i still haven't gotten my stocking. maybe i'll set out a sock--it's the closest thing i have at this moment--and fill it with small gifts that are under the tree. but they are already wrapped, and i always thought that was weird. who wraps gifts that go in your stocking? and all you really need for a stocking is a candy cane and an orange. and watches are good too, legos and watches. where did this tradition of filling socks with presents anyway? why can't these presents just be wrapped and put under the tree? because that would take all the fun out of it, that's why. my siblings and i would wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning, take the stockings into one of our rooms and look through all our stockings. we would play with the stuff then go back to bed and wake up again at seven and wait until our parents got up to open presents. so i guess the stockings were to keep us satiated until real gift un-wrapping started. maybe my parents knew something, like if we had to wait to open all our presents (even stockings), we would actually not wait but dive into the presents like a ravenous pack of wolves to devour the christmas spirit.
i have all my christmas shopping done. done! and it was done about a week ago too. all that remains is a present for brad that i need to get (but it can't be gotten until christmas), another present for brad that i ordered online that needs to come so i can wrap it, and a present for danny that i ordered online that needs to come so i can wrap it. oh and i need to send my parents their present. but at least i don't have to shop anymore. i hate christmas shopping because you neer know what to get and there are tons of people everywhere and the merchandise is strewn about the store. so i am pretty happy that i am done.
