house

june 25: after a few disappointing experiences looking at houses (we even submitted an offer on one, but we were outbid), we decide to get over it and look at a newly listed house. it is a foreclosure and we instantly fall in love with it. four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a two-car garage, laundry area inside the house...it has everything. sure it needs a new roof, and windows, and kitchen (eventually). and so what if one of the bedrooms has pink marble tile flooring, and another one has cheap "wood" flooring? and who cares that it needs termite control/repairs? it is still better than anything else we had been looking at.

so we decide that night to put an offer on the house. we fill out the paperwork and the offer is submitted the next day. we wait (for what seems like forever), and get a counteroffer from the bank. counteroffer is decent, so instead of trying to fight for a few thousand dollars, we accept. and voila! we just bought our second house!
